Untamed returns: what exactly has changed?
In the category of riding stirrups, the leopard print is one of those designs that you can recognize in the stable from the other end of the arena. When Tech Stirrups released the Untamed collection, it quickly turned out that riders fall into two groups: those who believe a stirrup should be invisible, and those who want to have their trademark on it.
Now the leopard print returns in its widest range yet: six limited editions: two new leopard print finishes and four versions with Swarovski crystals. This isn't a catalog refresh or a packaging change, but new color variants built on a proven design.
Leopard print is back in fashion for good, and this is visible not only in equestrianism. Tech Stirrups follows this rhythm: instead of one catalog for years, it releases seasonal drops and limited editions, and the runway patterns make their way onto the equipment you use daily. More and more people are completing color-coordinated sets, from the saddle pad to helmet panels to stirrups, and that is exactly where this collection hits the mark.
The most important news for those who hesitated during the previous series: the leopard print is no longer one pattern in two colors. Now there are six, and each has a different character – from warm brown to completely dark, matte titanium.
First drop: Rose Gold and Brown
The first installment of the leopard print features two finishes: Leopard Rose Gold and Leopard Brown. Both were available in two models, adult and children's, and it is they that built the recognition of the entire line. The September drop doesn't replace them, but adds two new colors and versions with crystals to them.

You can find the children's version under the name Venice Children. It is designed for a smaller foot and lighter rider weight, and since September, it has been available in the same leopard print palette as the adult model.
New leopard print: Titanium Leopard and Black Leopard
The two new finishes head in a direction that hasn't been in this line before: instead of warm, light tones, we get dark and muted versions.
Titanium Leopard is a leopard print on a brushed titanium background. The spots are matte and half a tone darker than the base, so the pattern is read calmly, without glare. This version looks best with silver hardware and graphite equipment, which dominates at competitions.
Black Leopard is lacquered black with light gray spots. The contrast here is clearly stronger than in titanium, but the entire palette remains in black and gray, so the stirrup fits into a classic dark set without rearranging the rest of the equipment.
Both versions are limited, and both were created on the same base as the rest of the collection, i.e., the safe Venice Sloped Evo stirrup.
Four versions with Swarovski crystals
The second part of the premiere includes four variants where the leopard print meets Swarovski crystals. Each combines a different frame finish with a different shade of crystal.

You can have each of these combinations in an adult and children's version, so the entire collection consists of four leopard print colors in two models, each with or without crystals. Versions with crystals are appropriately more expensive than the basic ones, but the difference concerns only the decoration.
In the manufacturer's photos, the crystals are set in a single row on the outer, mobile arm of the stirrup, not on the entire frame. This is a detail that is visible up close and in photos, but not from the stands.
It is worth knowing one thing: the crystals are a decorative element and do not change the technical parameters of the stirrup. The version with crystals rides exactly the same as the one without, so the choice between them is a matter of style, not function.
What's under the leopard print, or the Venice Sloped Evo
The designs are different, but the stirrup underneath is the same, and it determines how you ride in them. Venice Sloped Evo is a safety stirrup with an inclined tread. The inclination is 2.5 degrees and has one task: to position the foot so that the heel is lower than the toes, without constantly, consciously pushing it down.
In practice, this means less calf work to maintain position and a steadier leg after an hour of training. When jumping, there is a second effect: the foot returns to the same place after landing, instead of wandering forward.
The second thing is safety. The construction has a mobile outer arm that opens during a fall and releases the foot, and then returns to its place by itself. During normal riding, it remains closed, so the foot support is complete. That is the difference between safety stirrups and classic ones: in classic ones, the foot has nowhere to escape.
Added to this are the parameters that you feel most in everyday riding: aluminum construction, a pair weighing 570 grams, and a wide tread of 12 × 6.5 cm, densely covered with spikes that grip the sole of the boot. Leopard print doesn't end with the stirrups
The same theme can be carried higher, to the helmet. In KEP Italia helmets with interchangeable elements, primarily the Cromo 2.0, you can change the panels and visor without buying a new helmet. Limited edition: what does it mean in practice?
With this collection, the word "limited" is not a marketing gimmick. The manufacturer releases it in strictly limited quantities worldwide and expressly states that it does not guarantee the reissue of a given design once it is exhausted.
In practice, it looks like this: the design cannot be put off for later. If you like a version enough that you want to ride in it, you make the decision now, not after the season, because stores order from a pool that does not replenish.

How to choose the right version for yourself?
With six finishes, the decision is rarely obvious. A few tips from the conversations we have at the store.
Start with the rest of the set, not the stirrups. Rose Gold and Brown fall into the warm color scheme and look best with brown leather. Titanium and Black match a black saddle and graphite equipment, so they will work well for people competing in a classic, dark set.
Crystals or their absence is a question of where you ride. Versions with crystals look great in photos and at competitions, but in daily mud and sand, you gain nothing. Functionally, the versions with and without crystals are identical.
The tread size is chosen according to the boot, not the design. The tread should be about 1 to 1.5 cm wider than the widest part of the sole. Too narrow, and you risk getting your foot stuck; too wide, and it allows it to go in too deep.
For a young rider, look at the model, not the color. Venice Children has a smaller tread and lower weight, and it has the same palette as the adult version, so the child gets exactly the color they choose, just in the right size.
