Saddle leather works in demanding conditions. Horse sweat, sunlight, dust and dry stable air gradually strip away its natural oils. Dry leather loses suppleness and grip, becomes dull and can eventually crack where it flexes most. Professional care removes dirt and salt deposits, restores conditioning and depth of colour, and helps extend the life of this valuable part of your equipment.

When does saddle leather need attention?

• A dull, greyish surface: the leather has lost its natural oils and sheen.
• White salt deposits after intensive training: salt draws moisture out of the leather.
• Loss of grip on the flaps and seat, with a slippery or overly dry surface.
• Stiffness and squeaking where the leather bends, particularly around girth straps and binding.
• A build-up of old care products: a sticky or greasy coating that no longer absorbs into the leather.

What does the service include?

We remove dirt, sweat, salt deposits and accumulated care products, then condition the leather with a product suited to its type and finish. We treat the seat, flaps, binding and girth straps individually, taking account of their different textures and the stresses they carry. The treatment restores suppleness, an even colour and reliable grip.

This service covers cleaning and conditioning. Cracked, worn-through or permanently discoloured leather may need restoration or replacement. Contact us before ordering so we can assess what can realistically be restored.

Why use a professional service?

Unsuitable products are a major cause of leather damage. Harsh cleaners can strip colour and dry the leather, excessive oil can soften it too much and weaken stitching, and a product intended for one finish may damage another. We select products for the particular leather and apply only as much as it can absorb, avoiding excessive darkening or a greasy finish.

Our specialists have nearly 30 years of experience in saddle fitting and saddle servicing, making the team one of the most experienced in this part of Europe. We work at the Equirria sp. z o.o. service centre in Ruda Śląska, directly with saddle manufacturers and using products and procedures recommended for premium leather.

How to send or bring in your saddle

Choose one of two options when ordering:

• Drop-off and collection in person: bring your saddle to Ruda Śląska and collect it after servicing, with no additional transport charge.
• Courier collection (contact required): we arrange transport. After your order, we will contact you to agree a collection date. The surcharge is shown when you select this option.

For courier transport, protect your saddle in a box or transport cover. The shop's free-delivery offer does not apply to service orders.

How long does saddle leather care take?

We complete the service within 48 hours of your saddle arriving at Equishop Service Centre. Transit time in each direction is additional and depends on your delivery option.

How often does a saddle need professional conditioning?

It depends on how often it is used and the conditions it is exposed to. Daily use, heat and damp stables call for more frequent care. Routine cleaning after riding can be done at home; professional treatment is worthwhile when the leather has noticeably lost its suppleness, colour or grip.

Will conditioning change my saddle's colour?

Conditioned leather usually regains a deeper, richer shade. This comes from conditioning, not dyeing. We choose products to avoid altering the leather's colour or leaving streaks. For pale leather and delicate finishes, we explain the likely result before starting.

Does the service include a condition check?

Cleaning reveals details that can be overlooked in daily use, including the condition of girth straps, stitching and binding. If we notice wear requiring repair, we will let you know before you collect your saddle.
