Shoulder Free is an Equishop service that removes some filling from the front of the saddle panels at the horse's shoulder. This creates extra space where the shoulder blade moves with each stride. The adjustment is intended for horses with particularly prominent, broad or protruding shoulder blades that need more freedom of movement. It creates more room at the front of the saddle, so it is not suitable for horses with smooth, narrow shoulder contours. Work takes place at Equishop Service Centre, ul. Safety and aftercare
Shoulder Free is not a neutral modification. It creates extra space at the front and can worsen fit and balance on a horse that does not need it. A saddle fitter must determine the appropriate work after assessing horse and saddle. Afterwards, check the saddle in motion and review the choice of saddlecloth or pad, as the space beneath the front panels has changed. Regular fitting checks are particularly important for horses in training whose back and shoulder muscles are developing.
This is a saddle fitting adjustment, not a treatment for a medical condition. If your horse has back tenderness, reluctance to work or uneven movement, consult a vet.

- We remove filling from the front panel area at the shoulder and check the saddle's balance.
- Your saddle is ready within 48 hours of arrival. Check it on your horse in motion and report any fit concerns to your saddle fitter.
If you are unsure, send photographs of your horse from the side and front, plus the saddle on its back. We will advise on the appropriate service.
