background source: cavaliada.plSome of us wait for it all year, wondering what program the organizers will prepare for us. The annual Cavaliada attracts crowds of people to its stands – friends and family of the competitors, parents and children, often celebrities, and above all, a huge number of people passionate about equestrianism of all ages. Cavaliada provides incredible excitement for everyone. And what will it be like this year?
What is CAVALIADA?
The CAVALIADA Tour is the only equestrian competition series in Poland sponsored by the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI). Central and Eastern Europe's largest multi-day equestrian event takes place in three Polish cities – Poznań, Warsaw, and Lublin. Fortunately, these events don't take place simultaneously in all cities, so you can participate in all of them!
The first Cavaliada was organized in Poznań at the Poznań International Fair , where it continues to this day. The event begins on Thursday and runs until Sunday. The event is always divided into three parts – Cavaliada Sport, the Show, and the Fair, ensuring that every visitor will find something for themselves.

Audiences also eagerly follow the harness competitions – the Polish Indoor Driving Cup, the Eventing Eventing Tour, the dressage competitions at the KPMG DRESSAGE CUP, and the competitions for the youngest riders – CAVALIADA Future .

Thursday - The Power of the Jump
In the Power of Jump competition, horse and rider pairs must overcome a high wall, sometimes exceeding two meters in height. The rules are simple: the winner is the one who clears the highest obstacle, which is raised in each round. The wall jump is preceded by one or more remaining obstacles, designed to stretch and prepare the horse, before the final, all-important jump, which decides the winner.
The current CAVALIADA record belongs to Thomas Kleis from Germany, who jumped 2.20 cm on the horse QuickVainQueur in Poznań in 2012!

Friday - Venus vs Mars
This competition will pit women against men, meaning riders against riders. It will be a parallel competition, with eight women and eight men competing in pairs on two identical courses in a knockout format – the loser is eliminated. Every year, this is an incredibly spectacular competition. Perhaps the competition will leave the audience wondering who to root for? :)

Friday - Eventing Tour Eventing
Eventing is a fascinating discipline, designed to demonstrate the horses' abilities, endurance, and speed, as well as their elegance and harmony with their rider. Eventing consists of dressage, jumping, and cross-country. The latter is the most fascinating, yet also the most dangerous. During this test, competitors complete a course over 1,000 meters long, featuring approximately 20 different obstacles, much more massive and complex than those found in regular jumping competitions.
The Eventing Tour Eventing competition will also be the first qualifying round for the Polish Indoor Eventing Cup 2016/17.

Saturday - Speed and Music
This competition is a true race against the clock – this time, it's not about accuracy, but speed through obstacles. The event is included in the FEI World Ranking. Crowd support, a high prize pool, and the opportunity to earn valuable qualification points ensure the parkour circuit is heated and the excitement sky high!

Thursday, Saturday - Polish Indoor Driving Cup
There are many dressage and showjumping competitions held throughout Poland. However, participating in Cavaliada gives us the opportunity to witness a truly unique event – carriage driving, which we don't often have the opportunity to witness live. This discipline is fascinating because success depends not only on the cooperation of the typical horse-rider pair, but also on several horses, the driver, and a groom. A typical showjumping or dressage groom, among other things, relieves the rider, helps warm up the horse before the start, and is also responsible for grooming the mount. A groom in carriage driving has a completely different role – he actively supports the driver during the ride and is part of the team, responsible for the balance and equilibrium of the harness.

This competition gives the youngest competitors the opportunity to test their skills and break the ice. Performing in front of a large audience allows them to gain experience that will prove beneficial in the future. A truly enjoyable spectacle for everyone :)

Sunday - Dressage
The KPMG DRESSAGE CUP, the Poznań Freestyle Final, is a competition everyone will watch with bated breath and in complete silence. Anyone who hasn't had the opportunity to witness dressage at this level must see it live. Each of us should strive to achieve such graceful movement and complete understanding with our mount.

An educational program has also been prepared for this year's Cavaliada (Friday, 9 a.m., Pavilion 5, Arena A).
