Cavaliada Poznań 2017

Many riders must have heard of Cavaliada. But not every rider has had a chance to take part in one, or to become familiar with what it offers to horse riding lovers. Many equestrians believe that it is an event including riding competitions, fairs and shows. But the truth is that Cavaliada is a huge celebration of equestrianism, including international indoors horse riding competitions, which are part of a series of competitions called Cavaliada Tour. They take place in Poland in Poznań, Lublin, and Warsaw in various disciplines. You can see dressage competition, show jumping, eventing, or combined driving. To prove that Cavaliada is a prestigious event - it is authorized by FEI (International Federation for Equestrian Sports). But Cavaliada, first of all, means entertainment. The audience can see various shows and theatrical events with horses' participation. In the past years, the audience could see, e.g. vaulting shows, stallion presentations, dancer performances and Horseman Team's show. Cavaliada is also one of the biggest equestrian fair in Poland and Europe. You can find here everything associated with horse riding, from equestrian equipment to art and literature about horse riding. Besides the main events of Cavaliada schedule, there are also panel discussions, educational programs, and many different equestrian attractions. Everybody will find something enjoyable.

It's good to know more about this event history. Everything started in 1995 from horse riding competition that took place on the Poznań International Fair. They took place every year until 2008. In 2009 Poznań Cup was held for the very first time, and Poznań International Fair was its steward, not a host, like previously. In the following year, Cavaliada brand was founded. Along with its foundation, show jumping national competitions increased to international rank (CSI-W) with a World Cup qualification competition. Around this time, a decision was made to divide the event into three parts: sport, show, and fair. Poznań International Fair decided to organize Cavaliada in 2012, first in Warsaw, and then a year later in Lublin. Since then, the annual series of Cavaliada consists of three events taking place in these three cities. What is more, in 2016 the first edition of summer Cavaliada took place, where show jumping competition was held on a beach.

Poznań International Fair is the steward of Cavaliada. This event is taking place on the premises of Poznań International Fair that consists of 16 massive halls that combined have the area of 110000 m², open space of 35000 m², 81 air-conditioned rooms and conference halls, events area, and attended parking lot that can contain around 1000 cars.

This year, Cavaliada in Poznań will take place from November 30th to December 3rd. Sport events will take place in Arena A in Pavilion 5 and Arena B in Pavilion 7A of Poznań International Fair (MTP). Exciting moments await! During four days of Cavaliada you will see CSI1*, CSI3*, CSI3*-W competitions, Indoor Polish Cup, KPMG Dressage Cup and Sport Vaulting competition. What is more, you will be able to see Ogólnopolski Czempionat Koni Ras Szlachetnych w Skokach Luzem (all-Polish Championship of Half Bred Horses in Loose Jumping), and events organized by Polish Horse Breeders Association, and many other equestrian attractions.

Many popular riders will be there. 101 riders from 25 countries starting on 242 horses in total have been admitted to CSI3* competitions. You can see such celebrities as: Rolf-Göran Bengtsson, Philipp Weishaupt, Juan Carlos Garcia, Luca Maria Moneta, Piergiorgio Bucci, Sanne Thijssen, Jarosław Skrzyczyński, Krzysztof Ludwiczak and Michał Kaźmierczak. As you can see, the rivalry will be very exciting.
